Vote-buying and selling is a threat to democracy- Odeyemi urges Nigerians





The  chairman New Nigeria People's Party NNPP Osun State chapter, Dr Tosin Odeyemi has urged residents of the state to shun vote-buying and selling during the forthcoming 2022 governorship election in the state and the 2023  general elections. 

Odeyemi who doubles as the IPAC secretary in the state gave the advice today while featuring as a guest on a current affairs program "This morning" on Timsed 94.1fm ijebu jesa area of the state. 

He said vote-buying and selling was a threat to democracy as it undermines the emergence of credible candidates.

The NNPP boss also urged residents to participate in the electoral process by coming out in their large numbers to  join politics and 
 vote their choice and competent candidates.

Speaking on Osun 2022 governorship election, Odeyemi maintained that his party NNPP is ready to contest and win the Guber poll saying the present administration should  prepare to vacate the seat of power in state.

Ekiti Poll: Hon Fatomilola Wins NNPP Governorship Primary

The Ekiti State New Nigeria People's Party has affirmed Hon Oladosu Abiodun Fatomilola as it's governorship candidate for the 2022 election. 


The chairman of the Ekiti NNPP primary election and the chairman Oyo state chapter Prince Adeyeye Abiodun, announced the outcome of the poll at Eminent Guest House, NTA road, Ado Ekiti.


Fatomilola was however, elected as the party's preferred candidate, after polling a total of 36votes of the delegates.


The State party chairman, Prince Ade Ajayi, had earlier stated that Fatomilola is the only preferred candidate 


In his speech, fatomilola thanked all party members for their support, stating that he  was glad to be their preferred candidate.


The election committee which has Prince Adeyeye Abiodun as chairman, Hon Olalekan Fabayo as the secretary and Prince Adeyeye Adeola and Dapo Ajayi Toba as member adopted the indirect method in line with the COVID-19 guidelines.

 

In his words the Southwest chairman of the party Hon Dipo Olayoku said the national body of the party has setup a national committee for the governorship campaign  to be headed by NNPP Osun chairman Dr Tosin Odeyemi.


Present at the event include the  INEC representatives, NNPP southwest Secretary Ifeoluwa Akinfala, delegates across the sixteen local government of the state among others.

Ayeni empowers constituents, trains hundreds in vocational skills



Nigerian youths have been admonished to key into empowerment programs, vocational skills as alternative root to stabilize incomes at this period Nigeria faced with dearth economy downturn.

Member House of Representatives, representing Ijesa South Federal Constituency, Lawrence Ayeni gave the charged at the third batch, 11th edition of empowerment and graduation program held in Ilesa, osun state.


Ijesa south federal constituency consist of four local government including;  Ilesa East/west and Atakumosa East/west.

The various categories of participants empowered with certificates of training and tools of trade including 86 tailoring and 47 hair dressing.



It is expected that more of this empowerment scheme will reduced drastically poverty and  unemployment rate among teeming youths in the country.

Agbeda community agog as Reps member donate 500KVA transformer to boost power generation in the community


The hope of boosting power generation in ijesa south Federal Constituency, was today rekindled, just as the House of Representatives member, representing the constituency, Hon. Lawrence Babatunde Ayeni donated and commission a 500KVA transformer to ifesowapo community, irewole Agbeda zone 8.



In fulfilment of his promise to the people, he expressed optimism that the transformer would significantly impact the quality of life and economic activities within the communitie.



He assured residents in the constituency of continued representation that would bring more benefits to them.


Hon Ayeni assured constituents of more infrastructural projects, youth empowerment programmes among others.

 




Residents of the community appreciated the lawmaker for the development, saying that he had impacted positively on the communities.
